Sadako's Trip by Liu Tzu Cheng

Sadako is a ghost figure. She lingers around certain places for unfinished business. If someone happened to take a picture in the ream, then it might appear in the image as a way to deliver her message to the living world. The figure's appearance in a picture stands for an omen to the innocent subject of the image.

In the States, foreigner live in their house, speak their own language, may or may not have to communicate with members outside their little community. They claim to be citizen of this country without mingling with the society. They stand as an absence in this big culture landscape but actually is a part of this country, as if the relationship between the ghost and the ghost image.

For American viewers, the bleak meaning behind either the figure or ghost image is broken. Only ignorance and cheap interest indicates the sense of a broken cultural icon, lingering in a world it does not belong.
